Employee Assistance Funds

At Blue Grass Community Foundation, we partner with employers who care deeply about their teams and want to support them during times of tragedy or unexpected hardship. Life can change in an instant—natural disasters, the loss of a loved one, serious illness, or injury are challenges that no one should face alone.

While many employers want to help their employees in these moments, direct assistance is not considered a “charitable” act by the IRS and doesn’t qualify for a tax deduction. That’s where BGCF comes in.

Our Employee Assistance Funds (EAFs) provide a tax-deductible, charitable solution that allows compassionate employers to offer meaningful support to their valued workforce during difficult times.

How It Works:

  • BGCF manages the entire process, removing the administrative burden from employers.
  • We handle application intake, review and verification with care and confidentiality.
  • Once approved, payments are made directly to vendors (e.g., landlords, utility companies, medical providers) on behalf of the employee.
  • This ensures that employees get the help they need while maintaining privacy and compliance.
