First Flood Relief Grant Awarded to Help Franklin County Residents Rebuild
The Franklin County Community Fund is proud to announce the first grant from the Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund: a $50,000 award to the Resource Office for Social Ministries (ROSM). This grant will provide immediate assistance to Franklin County residents impacted by recent flooding.
ROSM will use the funds to support families facing urgent needs in the aftermath of the disaster. Residents seeking assistance are encouraged to visit the Multi Agency Resource Center (MARC) located at 827 Louisville Road in Frankfort. MARC will be open Monday through Friday, from 9am until 7pm.
The Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund is a collaborative effort between the City of Frankfort, Franklin County Fiscal Court and FCCF. Together, these partners are committed to ensuring donations are distributed efficiently and transparently to Franklin Countians affected by flooding.
“We’re grateful for the trust our community has placed in this fund, and we’re proud to partner with ROSM to make the first grant,” said Harry Carver, FCCF advisory board chair. “This is exactly what the Fund was created for—getting timely, flexible support into the hands of our neighbors who need it most.”
To date, the Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund has raised $130,000, thanks to the generosity of individuals, businesses and organizations across the region. Every dollar donated will be granted directly to vetted local nonprofits aiding in recovery efforts.
“This is just the beginning,” Jane Higgins, BGCF director of community advancement. “We know the road to recovery will be long, but with continued support, we can help the community rebuild, stronger than ever. If you’re looking for a way to support your neighbors through this crisis, please consider giving to the Frankfort/Franklin County Flood Relief Fund.”
