2025 Impact

This year, the community came together to raise $234,956 in support of 40 Black-serving nonprofits across Fayette County. Fueled by more than $100,000 in matching funds and prizes, the 2025 campaign doubled 2024’s year’s results—reaching twice as many organizations and inspiring hundreds of donors to give.

Since launching in 2023, Give 8/28 Lex has raised more than $350,000 for local organizations advancing opportunity in youth development, education, food justice, housing, public health, and community safety.

Give 8/28 Lex is part of the national Give 8/28 movement, a coordinated day of giving that marks historic milestones in Black history, including the ratification of the 13th Amendment in 1865 and the March on Washington in 1963.
